Check out this hognose. Wasnt in the garden but was in the back walkway. It hooded and hissed at Steven. It is a bumper crop year for snakes this year. Have already seen alot in the last couple months.
Texas hognose are so different from the ones I used to run across in KY. The KY ones didn't spread a hood. They rolled over and played dead and emitted a smell like they have been dead for days! I guess it was just a weekend for snakes. I posted pics on my blog of the ones we came across.
